STAGE 1. Basic ways of reading and modifying engine controller software.

You can absolutely take part in our training. The course starts from the very basics, so you do not need any prior knowledge or experience – we start from zero.

The training begins with learning how to read maps from a car’s ECU using OBD, meaning devices connected directly to the vehicle, as well as BENCH mode, when the ECU is removed from the car. Then we will show you how to use the WinOLS software, which is used to modify these maps. This way, you will gain practical knowledge on how to work with maps and implement modifications.

In addition to discussing the basic concepts related to reading and modifying engine control unit software, participants complete practical exercises including, among others, reading and writing ECU data, analyzing and modifying maps that control engine operation, identifying communication buses and memory types, using tools for editing ECU files, as well as safely comparing and saving modified data. This approach allows participants to better understand how engine control units function and effectively apply the acquired knowledge in the daily work of a diagnostic technician and ECU tuner.

No, you do not need to bring your own equipment to the training. All the necessary tools will be waiting for you and will be available during the classes. This means you do not have to worry about having your own computer, programmers, or ECUs – we provide everything so you can focus on learning and practice. During the training, you will use a computer with the WinOLS software installed, as well as various devices for reading and writing maps from the ECU.

Yes, during the training we will discuss various hardware options, including programmers available on the market. During the classes, we will explain what to look for when choosing the right devices, what their functions are, and what advantages and disadvantages they have. This will give you the knowledge needed to make an informed decision about which equipment will be best suited to your needs and budget. We would like to emphasize that we do not sell any products or promote specific brands. Our role is to provide objective information and guidance so that you can independently choose the equipment that is most suitable for you.

If you believe you already have sufficient knowledge of map modification, the WinOLS software, and error tables, and you don’t want to spend time reviewing the material, while also feeling ready to continue learning – test yourself with a short quiz on software modification knowledge. During the training, you can ask questions at any time. The course is conducted in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and all participants are on a first-name basis with the trainer, making communication easy and informal. You don’t have to wait for the trainer to finish their presentation or explanations – you can interrupt at any time and ask a question.

We understand how important post-training support is. Although you won’t be able to directly “return with questions” to the trainer after the course, we provide access to a dedicated WhatsApp group. This group includes people who have completed our training, both in map modification and ECU repair. They are experienced enthusiasts and professionals who have been modifying maps for years and are happy to help you with any questions or issues. It’s a great place to share experiences, ask questions, and receive support from the community.

After the training, you will receive a presentation containing all the exercises discussed and the most important information from the course. This will allow you to revisit the materials at any time, refresh your memory on the details, and reinforce the knowledge you have gained. It’s a great way to continue learning and practicing your skills even after the training has ended.

Three days may seem short, but in our ECU map modification training, we strive to make the most of this time. We organize it in an intimate group of no more than 6-7 participants, which is a major advantage. This allows the trainer to dedicate sufficient time to each participant, answer questions, and provide individual support. Small groups enable more practical and detailed training, as well as quick resolution of any issues. As a result, despite the shorter duration, participants gain solid knowledge and skills that can be applied immediately in practice.
